Android Lollipop 5.0 Release Date Schedule, Witch Devices will get the New Update?

The Android 5.0 Lollipop release date schedule will depend on each individual OEM, but we already have a fairly good idea of what devices are in like to get Android 5.0 Lollipop. Naturally Google has confirmed that theNexus 6, Nexus 9, Nexus 5, Nexus 7, Nexus 10 and Google Play Edition devices. Even older Nexus devices like the Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 (2012) will get the Android 5.0 Lollipop showing that Google has truly optimized the OS so that it can run on older gen devices just as well as the newest flagships.

1. Nexus and Google Play

The fact that the Nexus 4 will be getting the Android 5.0 Lollipop update was confirmed by Sascha Pruter, “I know there is a meme for this somewhere but... be assured the missing "Nexus 4" in the Lollipop update notice is just a mistake, we are fixing it now :) Now please put down your pitchforks again and let's have some candy !” he said on Google+. Android Police confirmedthe Nexus 7 (2012) would also get the Android 5.0 Lollipop update despite its modest storage and Tegra 3 processor. When it comes to the release date schedule, we expect that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update will roll out to the Nexus devices first, with the Nexus 5 being the first to get it OTA, followed by the Nexus 7 (2013) and Nexus 10. Then older devices like the Nexus 4 and the Nexus 7 (2012) will probably get the Android 5.0 Lollipop update around the same time as the Google didn’t specify which Google Play Edition devices will get the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, but it seems that the main ones will be the HTC One M8 and Moto G, both of which are currently on the Google Play Store. Other Google Play Edition devices like the Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One M7, Sony Z Ulra, LG G Pad 8.3

2. Motorola

Motorola has confirmed that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update will roll out to many of its devices. Motorola doesn’t have a full release date schedule for the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, but based off Motorola’s track record and the speed with which it pushed out the Android 4.4 KitKat update, second only to the Nexus device. Once Android 5.0 L is officially released, we intend to bring this latest upgrade to many of our other Motorola devices, as well. This includes Moto X (1st and 2nd Gen), Moto G (1st and 2nd Gen), Moto G with 4G LTE, Moto E, Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx and Droid Mini. We're still working out the details on timing and the upgrade depends on our partners' support so stay tuned to our software upgrades page for the latest and greatest.3. Samsung
Naturally Samsung flagships like the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Samsung Galaxy S5 and the Samsung Galaxy Alpha should get the Android 5.0 Lollipop update first. Other Samsung devices are also expected to get Android 5.0 Lollipop. According to the Android 5.0 Lollipop release date schedule from SamMobile the following older Samsung devices:GT-I9300 – Galaxy S III GT-I9305 – Galaxy S III LTE GT-I9500 – Galaxy S 4 GT-I9505 – Galaxy S 4 LTE GT-N5100 – Galaxy Note 8.0 GT-N5105 – Galaxy Note 8.0 LTE GT-N5110 – Galaxy Note 8.0 Wi-Fi GT-N7100 – Galaxy Note II GT-N7105 – Galaxy Note II LTE GT-N8000 – Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-N8005 – Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE GT-N8010 – Galaxy Note 10.1 Wi-Fi. Remember this is an pre-list. (Samsung could still change devices!) Do not ask for other devices, if we know more we will tell you. * List is not complete yet!

4. LG

LG hasn’t officially provided an Android 5.0 Lollipop release date schedule yet, but the LG G3 should certainly get it. Other LG devices aren’t quite certain, though CNET says the LG G2 Pro, LG G2 and the LG G Pro are all likely.
HTC Android 5.0 Lollipop Release Date Schedule
HTC has confirmed its Android 5.0 Lollipop release date schedule, saying that the HTC One M8 and HTC One M7 would both get the update 90 days following the final software from Google. The Android 5.0 Lollipop update should rollout worldwide to both flagships. We also anticipate that new devices like the HTC Desire Eye will get the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. HTC is excited about the new features in the Android L release and we can’t wait to share them with you. We are committed to updating our flagship HTC One family as fast as possible as part of our HTC Advantage program. We will begin rolling out updates to the HTC One (M8) and HTC One (M7) worldwide within 90 days of receiving final software from Google, followed shortly thereafter by other One family members and select devices. HTC Advantage protects your smartphone investment, ensuring you have the best smartphone experience long after purchase.

5. OnePlus

The Android 5.0 Lollipop release date schedule was confirmed on the OnePlus forum. The update will come to the OnePlus One 3 months after the release of Google releasing the final Android 5.0 Lollipop build. Friends, So a lot - I mean, a lot - of people are asking about whether we'll be getting on the Android L train. It was announced while I was asleep and when I got back to work the morning after, there were already a bunch of forum posts and (strangely) customer support requests about it. Well, we're keen to announce today that the OnePlus One will indeed be getting the L treatment. When, you ask? That depends on Google. We promise to have it done within three months of their releasing a final build.

6. Sony
